Newcastle Aquatic Physiotherapy
We provide physiotherapy and hydrotherapy to a wide range of clients including post surgery orthopaedics (joint replacement), back injuries, stroke, MS, muscular dystrophy, rheumatoid and osteoarthritis, chronic pain management and rehabilitation.
Origin Story
Newcastle Aquatic Physiotherapy was born from the vision of our founder, Charlie Finlay-Jones, who believed that everyone deserved care without judgment.
After 12 years of running Shortland Physiotherapy & Hydrotherapy, Charlie designed NAP as a purpose-built facility that combined comfort, functionality, and community.
From accessible change rooms to thoughtfully placed skylights, every detail reflected his commitment to creating an inclusive and welcoming space. Together with his childhood friend Michelle, Charlie built more than a clinic—he built a joyful, family-first community where staff, clients, and their families all felt they belonged.

Since opening in 2007, NAP has grown to include one of the finest hydrotherapy pools in the Hunter Region and a full commercial-quality gym.
In 2024, after 12 years of working at NAP, Sarah became the new owner. Continuing Charlie’s legacy of collaborative, client-first care while guiding NAP into the future, making the changes necessary to meet the evolving needs of current and future clients.
Though the clinic has evolved, Charlie’s vision of compassion, inclusion, and joy remains at the heart of everything we do.

Our mission is clear: We help people move better, feel stronger, and live the life they choose — with care, confidence, and expertise.
