Sarah

Colston

Director/Principal Physiotherapist

Sarah is the director and Principal Physiotherapist of Newcastle Aquatic Physiotherapy, after taking over from Charlie Finlay-Jones in 2024. Sarah completed Physiotherapy at Sydney University in 2003. She initially worked in the public hospital system throughout the Hunter, before doing Community-Based rehabilitation in Katherine, NT. She travelled to the UK, and worked in the community and hospitals, before returning to Australia and worked extensively within Aged Care facilities throughout Sydney. In 2012, Sarah joined NAP, bringing with her significant experience in Chronic Pain, Aged Care, Dry Needling and Hydrotherapy. She is a certified Tai Chi and Clinical Pilates instructor, and currently runs our Water Tai Chi, Strength and Balance, and Aquacise classes.

Kaytlyn

Shuck

Physiotherapist

Kaytlyn graduated with a bachelor of physiotherapy from the University of Newcastle in 2009. She originally joined the NAP team back in 2012 before coming back to join the team in 2023. Kaytlyn’s further studies and post graduate courses have included GLAD, Clinical pilates, active ageing, hydrotherapy, Pregnancy and post-natal exercise, and dry needling. Kaytlyn's special interest is in managing musculoskeletal injuries, chronic pain, post op and neurological rehabilitation. Kaytlyn is currently with us on a part time basis and is chasing after two small children and a very fluffy dog on the days she is not with us.

Margaret Clitheroe

Physiotherapist

Margie brings 40 years of physiotherapy experience, having worked in public hospitals across London, Sydney, and rural Dungog, as well as owning and leading her own private practice in Parramatta for 20 years. Specialising in NeuroMusculoSkeletal Health, she holds a Masters in Health Science and postgraduate training in Manual and Manipulative Therapy. Her studies under Professor Janda shaped her expertise in addressing chronic pain through posture, movement, and gait correction. Margie also has extensive experience in rehabilitation, hydrotherapy, and running classes like Falls Prevention and Chronic Pain Management. Outside work, she enjoys canoeing, cycling, gardening, and farm life.

Nathan

Wright

Exercise Physiologist

Nathan graduated from the University of Sydney in 2016 with a degree in Exercise Physiology. During his studies, he worked with elite athletes through a Performance Analysis Internship at the NSW Institute of Sport, including the NSW Swifts (Netball) and NSW Combined High Schools State Hockey teams. He also gained valuable experience supporting the Royal Australian Navy as a Rehabilitation Consultant. These days, Nathan is passionate about helping people with chronic health conditions regain their movement, confidence, strength, and independence. Whether it’s getting back to work, keeping up with daily life, or enjoying the activities they love, he’s focused on developing strategies that make a real difference to each person’s life. Away from work, he enjoys travelling to new countries to experience the food and culture, staying active and keeping up with his two young boys.

Natalie

Menck

Client Care & Operations Assistant

Natalie is currently working at Newcastle Aquatic Physiotherapy full time, having previously worked at Newcastle Aquatic Physiotherapy in 2022 and 2023. She is enjoying being back and seeing all the familiar faces and getting to know the new clients. When she’s not working Natalie will be out and about with friends and family and sometimes with her 3 dogs.

Gabrielle

Williams​

Operations Manager

Gabby joined our team, in June 2024, as our Practice Manager. with a background in office management, dental administration and aged care. She has a strong focus on client care, streamlined processes and fostering strong team relationships.   When Gabby isn't working she enjoys spending time with her partner, family and friends, swimming in the salt water and curling up with a good book.

Amanda

Wiblen

Physiotherapist

Amanda graduated from a Bachelor of Physiotherapy Degree at the University of South Australia in 2004. She began her career in regional South Australia, where she worked across several settings, including outpatients, inpatients and the community. She has worked in numerous areas of physiotherapy, including musculoskeletal, orthopaedics, domiciliary care and paediatrics. Amanda is passionate about working with all people, ranging from young babies and older children to adults. She has a desire to empower all people to achieve their goals. When Amanda isn’t working, she loves to volunteer in her local community.

Physiotherapist

Eden is a dedicated physiotherapist with a Bachelor's degree in Physiotherapy from Newcastle University. He has a strong interest in Cardiothoracic Rehabilitation, Emergency Assessment, and Neuromuscular Rehabilitation. Eden is passionate about helping individuals regain strength and mobility through personalized care. Outside of work, he enjoys exercising at the gym, diving into the latest research on medicine and space, and spending time with friends in Gosford and Sydney.

Karen comes to our practice from a dental background where she has worked as a Dental Hygienist for the last 24 years. She is actively involved in the fitness industry where she works as a group fitness instructor and personal trainer. When not meeting and greeting clients at the practice Karen has a love of anything fitness and hanging with her pet greyhound Gina.

Jason

Carswell

Physiotherapist

Jason gained his degree in Exercise Science from Southern Cross University in 1990 before moving onto Physiotherapy. He graduated from Sydney University (Cumberland College) in 1994 and joined our Practice in 1995, whilst we were based at the Hunter Valley Private Hospital. Jason left us for a few years to travel abroad and then worked up and down the coast of NSW before settling back in Newcastle. We were very happy when he decided to come back to our Practice in 2010. Jason enjoys all aspects of Physiotherapy but has a special interest in stroke rehabilitation. When he is not working, surfing is his passion and he has travelled extensively both here and overseas chasing the perfect wave.

Rosemary

Antonuccio

Physiotherapist

Rosemary graduated with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy from the University of Sydney in 1992 and holds a Certificate in Hydrotherapy from La Trobe University (1994). She has worked at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital, John Hunter Hospital, and in residential aged care. With experience in chronic pain management, mobility retraining, Parkinson's, balance and falls prevention, and osteoarthritis (with GL:AD qualifications), Rosemary is passionate about hydrotherapy and brings a comprehensive approach to patient care.

Waites

Physiotherapist

Sinead joined the NAP team in August 2025 after graduating from the University of Newcastle with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy in 2024. She completed placements in neurological, musculoskeletal, and orthopaedic/ respiratory physiotherapy at John Hunter Hospital, Westmead Hospital, Broken Hill Hospital, and private practice in Forster. She is passionate about providing holistic, patient centred care. Outside of work she is borrowing peoples drills for DIY projects, making art, and taking bush walks.

Norgard

AHA/Client Care Assistant

Jess is currently studying physiotherapy at the University of Newcastle, having commenced her studies in 2023. Jess has brought her passion for helping her community into Newcastle Aquatic Physiotherapy. When she’s not at the clinic, you may see Jess at the beach, gym or out and about with her dog, Ava. Jess is in the practice 2 days a week, welcoming everyone's friendly faces into the clinic.
